Screens against whatever watchlist you import — the Nigeria Sanctions List (Nigeria Sanctions Committee) and the UN Consolidated List are the closest Nigerian equivalents to OFAC's SDN list; both must be imported or pulled via API since Nigeria does not publish one combined machine-readable file the way OFAC does. STR/SAR = Suspicious Transaction Report, filed to the NFIU. This tool drafts and organizes reports — it does not submit them; check current NFIU submission channels and exact statutory timelines with your compliance/legal function before relying on any deadline shown here.

Match sensitivity

Alert threshold: 75%

Lower threshold catches more potential matches (higher false-positive rate); higher threshold is stricter. Matching uses Levenshtein + token-sort similarity — a reasonable baseline, but production sanctions screening should use a dedicated fuzzy/phonetic matching engine that handles transliteration (e.g. Hausa/Arabic name variants).
